But under re-examination from Crown Prosecutor Victoria Engel, Judge Huntingford said she was not aware at the time that there were allegations Ms Gwynne was friends with Ms Dewson.
“If you had been told Ms Dewson and Ms Gwynne were in a close-knit circle of friends… would that concern you?” asked Ms Engel.
“Yes,” Judge Huntingford replied.
“Darwin is a very small place”.
This is why The Trust is constantly on about nepotism and cronyism in the Northern Territory. Mates get jobs while more suitable candidates do not. The perception of nepotism must be avoided at all costs.
