Politicians are constantly telling lies. So no surprises in what Barnaby Joyce has been saying.

Every Player Wins
Everyone’s a winner, pop that ball into the corrupt politician’s mouth.
You have choice between the CLP Clowns and the Labor Clowns.
Our Politicians Too Lazy – The Estimates Fail!
One of our Trust boffins was going over the uncorrected Estimates Committee transcript from 23 June 2021 on pages 59 and 60 (see our images below) and noted that there were no questions regarding a number of government “offices”.
We would have expected a question about the Children’s Commissioner, even a question that could have been fobbed off by answering that the matter was before the courts. But nothing, total silence.
Our politicians get a giant fail, we note that this is a CLP fail!
Shoot The Lot Of Them! Our Politicians And Public Officials Should Think Themselves To Be Privileged!
Our politicians and public officials should think themselves to be very privileged in that the Australian public tolerates their behaviour. In some countries people are shot for less. And before you jump on your high horse, we are not promoting violence. We are merely suggesting that our politicians and public officials think before they engage in various forms of misconduct and corruption.

No Such Thing As Independent Politician When They Are Under The Sway Of Religion
Who do your politicians really represent? The people in their electorate or their religion? Politics and religion a dangerous mix.
Abortion, prostitution and euthanasia, three areas that show our politician’s religious bent.

Election 2020 – Politicians
“Ordinarily, people are anxious to test their theories in practice, to learn from experience, but those who wield power are so anxious to establish the myth of their own infallibility that they turn back on truth as squarely as they can. Politics mean nothing to me. I don’t like people who are indifferent to the truth.”
Boris Pasternak, Doctor Zhivago
Pasternak aptly describes our politicians as those who turn their backs on truth. Our politicians are just part of the equation with the bureaucracy also being a truth omission.

Corruption – As Dangerous As Terrorism and More Likely
Corruption is on a par with terrorism. People do get killed for asking too many questions or taking on those with vested interests in corruption. Australians are living in a fool’s paradise if they think Australia is immune.
As a society we are very good at identifying and then dealing with robbers and murderers. However when it comes to corrupt officials we balk and try to avoid. Why? The answer is not that complex at all.
The distance between the law makers and the corrupt is very close. So close at times that the law makers may find themselves subject to anti-corruption measures. So they often as not try to exempt themselves as they tried to in the NT.
Just because the law may not cover a situation it does not mean that it is not corrupt. The old “I did not break the law when I arranged to have my friend awarded a contract”, it does not pass the “sniff, pub or person on the street test”.
The disclosure of interests by our elected members does not tell you who their associates are. So the game of mates continues especially where those in government can use public solicitors to assess their dodgy deals and ensure they just inside the law or can be explained away.
The Trust believes that corruption is on a par with terrorism. So do many others just read these links.

“Part of it is that, as psychologists have demonstrated, the human animal is quite bad at assessing probabilities. We tend to underestimate big risks (such as getting killed on the road) and overestimate small risks (such as winning Lotto or being caught up in terrorism).”
“We tend to assess the likelihood of a particular event according to its “salience” – how well we remember hearing of similar events in the past and how much notice we took of them.”
“Trouble is, most of what we know about what’s happening beyond our personal experience comes to us from the news media, and the media focus almost exclusively on happenings that are highly unusual, ignoring the everyday occurrences.”
